                     ACCESSIBLE / SUBSIDIZED HOUSING

Subsidized housing is a rental assistance program. Income eligible tenants pay a percentage of their income towards housing costs and HUD subsidizes the balance. Information and applications for subsidized housing can be obtained through the HRA or through privately owned apartment management companies.

FSS: Family Self-Sufficiency Program-Provides case management services to help people plan how to find work to support their families. Families living in Section 8 can enroll immediately. Low Rent Public Housing families go on a waiting list for the next available opening.

Bridges Program Provides housing vouchers for people with serious and persistent mental illness who are on the waiting list for Section 8 housing.
